Hey ya'll! I wanted to talk about HONESTY today.
Sometimes I just wish that people could really be honest with each other, you know? I know y'all are sitting there shaking your heads saying no, thank you very much, you don't.
No one really wants anyone to tell them those jeans make the butt look super big, or that pimple is sittin right on the end of your nose, it's grossing you out and getting bigger by the minute, or that they just had a baby that just might possibly be the ugliest they have ever seen. LOL
I know, we have to be tactful and we have to use that filter or we would lose our jobs, friends, husbands/wives/partners, and be ostracized and no one wants that, it would be lonely and how would we be treated just because you were HONEST about that baby looking like a frog.
Ok, so we lie, or rather, we use what I had a hard time learning, a filter. We tactfully tell that blissfully unaware new momma that her baby boy is the sweetest, most beautiful baby ever born, Bless his heart.
There are a lot of things that we do and do not say so that we can get along with other's and not hurt anyone's feelings and hey, that ugly baby is probably going to be the prom king.
Hey, it could happen.
I decided that I have spent too much time not being honest with myself and thats where I believe the problems begin. I am working on being honest with MYSELF.
I promise, I will not tell you that your butt looks big, unless it's a great look for you.
I am working on being honest with MYSELF about the things that previously I had not been able to. These are important things that you need to be honest about because if you are not then that's where you begin to allow negative thinking and unhealthy habits to start.
I believe that it's just like a garden. You sow your seeds, you feed and nurture them, but if you let too many weeds in, then pretty soon they will overtake your garden and that's what you will be left with, sure you may pull some tomatoes out, but your going to be spending all your time pulling up the weeds that you get tired and frustrated. You don't want to be frustrated with your life. No! You want to be Happy!!! Right?
That's my goal and I really don't need millions of dollars to be happy. (Feel free to send any millions you want my way though😉)
Anyway, I hope that you can look at your life and go ahead and be really honest with yourself about what you like and what you don't and start reducing the things that do not make you happy.
You see, we all have "weeds" we can start pulling. Let's start with something everyone has probably dealt with, like that "friend" that really isn't good for you. They are always complaining, you keep putting yourself through the horrible times just because you have for 20 years. No. Be honest, are you getting back anything? If not then let it go! What about your job? Now I know that we all can't just leave a place that doesn't make our soul full but we can be HONEST and ask ourselves if this is what we wanted and if it's not then you can certainly make changes so that you can have the career that does make YOU HAPPY.
Imagine that, getting up and doing something that actually makes YOU HAPPY and the only way to do that is to get down and dirty honest with yourself and decide what you want.
As women, we are always, always, always making other's happy, putting everyone and everything else (carpool, home, dishes for crying outloud!!!) first. I did it and then one day I lost my job and then as if that wasn't enough I found out that my money that I thought was "safe" was just gone....
so all those years that I did what I was supposed to do and married a man who beat me(sorry that's a post for another day)
My point for you ladies and gentlemen too is this: BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF AND THEN GO FOR WHAT YOU WANT
DON'T FOLLOW THE PACK
HAVE FUN ALONG THE WAY
BECAUSE LIFE IS HARD AND IT IS GOING TO TAKE YOU UP AND DOWN AND AROUND
DON'T BE UNHAPPY
LIVE YOUR LIFE AS WELL AS YOU CAN JUST BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF AND I TRULY BELIEVE THAT YOU WILL BE HAPPIEST
